LICEcap

LICEcap is a tool through which you can take screenshots that are automatically converted into GIFs. This way, you can make animated GIFs to save or share with your contacts in a matter of seconds.

Note that LICEcap lets you select whatever area of the screen you want to include. Also, if you prefer, you can use a rectangular guide or a more defined segmentation to make GIFs of a certain size.
